Article Analysis #1

This article, Giuliani Campaign Tries to Minimize Fallout From Kerik Indictment, criticizes Giuliani’s campaign. But, what does this have to do with John McCain? He gives his views on Giuliani’s platform. McCain said, “Supposedly his mission was to help train Iraqi police. He stayed a couple of months, got us and left. That should have been part of anyone’s judgment before they would recommend that individual to be head of the Department of Homeland Security.” He feels as though it was irresponsible of Giuliani, having not questioned the newly appointed head of Department of Homeland Security, Kerik, about is failed attempt to training the Iraqi police force in 2003. Homeland Security may not be a part of Giuliani’s platform, but it is crucial to McCain’s platform, because he feels as though Iraqi soldiers need to be given the necessary training in order to finish the war, and to disband al Qaeda, which will in effect give the citizens in America a better sense of safety.
